Archive 6

The following are issues that customers reported to GetHuman about The Weather Channel customer service, archive #6. It includes a selection of 20 issue(s) reported September 7, 2021 onward. If you have a similar customer service issue, this page will help you find current, up-to-date answers and solutions too.
I would like to share a few observations and suggestions: 1. Requesting for reporters not to be out in harsh weather conditions like rain and wind, as it may not be necessary for viewers to see that to understand a storm. 2. Providing feedback about Stephanie Abrams, mentioning concerns about her communication skills and the things she says on air. 3. Advising to slow down the pace of the speakers during broadcasts as rapid switching and fast talking can be overwhelming and less informative. 4. Pointing out that a speaker named Alex on Weather Underground tends to shout excessively, which may be off-putting. No need for a response.

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of timely coverage regarding the recent tornadoes. The promised 24-hour coverage was not delivered, resulting in tragic consequences. Can someone please explain why the storm reporting suddenly ceased after being forecasted for two days? It is alarming that the management team allowed this to happen. The situation is dire, especially with reports of Amazon workers in distress and fatalities in a nursing home in Arkansas. This negligence is unacceptable. I urgently seek answers and hope for better communication and coverage moving forward. -Carlene B. [redacted] [redacted]

I am concerned about the inaccurate air quality values being reported for Uluborlu, Turkey. The area is heavily polluted due to smoke from buildings burning low-quality Russian coal and even plastic. The reported air index of 34 is misleading as the actual air quality is much worse. I would like to know the source of this information and where the air monitor station is located. Please provide clarification on how the air index of 34 was determined, as it seems far from the reality of the situation in Uluborlu. Thank you. - GH

Subject: Concern Regarding Weather Channel's Partnership with BlueTriton Dear Barbara Bekkedahl, I am writing to express my deep concern over The Weather Channel's collaboration with BlueTriton Brands. It is troubling to see this partnership, especially considering the Weather Channel's commitment to covering climate change issues, while BlueTriton's unsustainable water pumping and plastic usage significantly contribute to environmental crises. BlueTriton's actions in extracting water from delicate ecosystems like Strawberry Creek in the San Bernardino National Forest are especially alarming, given the severe drought and wildfire conditions in California. Moreover, the company's lack of effort in addressing plastic pollution adds to the climate crisis, leading to adverse weather patterns. I urge you to reconsider this partnership to ensure that the Weather Channel does not inadvertently support BlueTriton's harmful practices. By terminating this association, you can send a powerful message to BlueTriton to reform their environmentally damaging operations. Sincerely, K.E.

I would have appreciated if the Weather Channel had interrupted its programming to cover the severe weather in Texas, including thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hail. However, they did not provide any coverage. I kept checking back but found nothing. I anticipate the storms moving towards Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. I have been a loyal viewer of the Weather Channel since its early days on cable. Unfortunately, it seems like Texas is not a priority for them to break into their scheduled programs. As a result, I no longer consider it a reliable source for weather updates as I previously did. I am grateful for what the channel used to offer. Thank you. - 3-14-[redacted] - Ms. Lee R. Greer

I have noticed some recent changes with the app on my iPhone. If the frequent pop-up ads persist while I am using your app to check the hourly forecast, I will have no choice but to delete it. This issue only started a couple of months ago. If it is connected to my service, both your company and my loyalty will be at risk. I suggest that your company place the ads on the page without causing interruptions. Users can interact with the ads if they choose to. I used to enjoy using this app, but recently, it has become frustrating when I am bombarded with irrelevant ads while trying to access the hourly weather forecast. I hope you take this feedback into consideration to retain loyal users like me who value a seamless experience.

I subscribe to Comcast Cable TV and have been watching the Weather Channel for a while now. Previously, the "local" news on the 8's used to be Mount Holly, which was in line with the weather I experienced on my farm located 15 miles east and 10 miles north of Mount Holly in western New Jersey. However, the "local" news on the 8's was changed to Beach Haven, which is 35 miles south and 25 miles east of my location. Beach Haven is situated on a strip of land on the ocean side of the bay on the east coast of New Jersey, and their weather does not accurately represent the conditions in New Egypt where I reside. I reached out to Comcast for an explanation but did not receive a satisfactory response. I am perplexed as to why this change was made, as it was unnecessary and has now provided me with incorrect weather information. - Ann N., New Egypt, NJ

I am concerned about the commercial promoting space tourism using helium-filled balloons as "green" and a better alternative to rocket rides for billionaires. I strongly disagree with this portrayal. Helium is a by-product of natural gas drilling and once it's released into the atmosphere, it is gone forever. While medical and scientific uses like MRI machines save lives and serve practical purposes, using helium for entertainment like balloons is wasteful. It's vital to view helium as a valuable resource with limited availability. The Weather Channel should consider the environmental impact of their advertisements and promote responsible helium usage.

I wanted to share some informative details about Pikeville, KY and some upcoming weather reports as mentioned on your news station. As a Professional Civil Engineer who taught at a Community College in Prestonsburg, KY from [redacted] to [redacted], I believe your staff would find the construction project in Pikeville from [redacted] to [redacted] fascinating. This project was a significant engineering feat aimed at reducing flooding from the Big Sandy river in Pikeville. The restructuring involved rerouting a river, a railroad line, and constructing new roads. Moving 18 million cubic feet of material, including 13 million cubic feet of solid rock, was no easy task. Most of this material was used to modify the riverbed that surrounded downtown Pikeville, which was prone to flooding. I'm curious to see if this project will prevent future floods. For more details, you can reach me at [redacted]. A close friend of mine, who has lived in Pikeville for over 55 years, has had a remarkable career there. Thanks for your attention to this matter. Frank Collopy.

On August 22, I saw an ad on the Weather Channel from "Safe Alarm" during the hourly weather report. The ad highlighted a robbery in Southbridge, MA [redacted], claiming it was prevented by their product. I confirmed with the police that no such incident occurred, and the images used were not even from Southbridge. When I contacted their customer service, an employee named Nicole explained that the ad was fictional and suggested I buy the product without addressing my concerns of false advertising. Nicole refused to connect me to a supervisor or provide company information unless I made a purchase. This misleading advertising has raised suspicions. I hope the Weather Channel will investigate and remove this ad. I usually trust your channel and visit your website often. I prefer phone calls over emails, so please reach out to me. Thank you. I am concerned about the safety of The Weather Channel's Hurricane Reporters. This afternoon, Jim Cantore experienced a close call when a tree branch hit him while reporting in Punta Gorda. The risk of injury or even death from heavier branches or flying debris is a serious issue. It is important that the on-screen reporters prioritize safety and adhere to the same precautions that are advised to the public. By highlighting the storm's severity without endangering the lives of reporters and camera operators, The Weather Channel can still effectively convey important information. Leon H. Allen, Jr., retired USDA-ARS Scientist specializing in Micrometeorology.

I am concerned about The Weather Channel's Hurricane Reporters being put at risk during storm coverage. Today, Jim Cantore was hit by a tree branch while reporting in Punta Gorda. The potential for serious injuries or worse, such as being hit by heavier branches or flying debris, is alarming. Safety protocols preached to the public seem overlooked by the on-camera news team. The severity of the storm can be captured without endangering the lives of reporters and camera operators. The Weather Channel should prioritize the safety of their staff to avoid unnecessary risks during storm coverage. Hopefully, my message reaches the right people at The Weather Channel this time. - Leon H. Allen, Jr., a retired USDA-ARS Scientist with a background in Micrometeorology.

I recently got a new motorcycle that I've invested a lot of time and money into. Yesterday, I was excited to take it out for a ride based on your weather forecast. However, despite your prediction of dry roads around 1pm, I got caught in a storm shortly after leaving around 1:15 pm. This isn't the first time your forecasts have been inaccurate. As a loyal viewer of The Weather Channel, I'm disappointed by the inconsistency.

I am experiencing issues accessing my premium account on Weather.com via my desktop computer. Despite being a paid subscriber since December 30, [redacted], I am unable to log in or view any account details. I have also not received any responses to my previous inquiries submitted through the customer service form. I upgraded to the premium subscription through a promotion for an annual plan, and the charge of $21.76, including tax, appears on my Chase card statement under GOOGLE *WeatherChannel. I seek assistance in resolving this matter and gaining access to my premium account on my Windows desktop. I typically use multiple email addresses, including [redacted] and [redacted], on both my PC and phone, and I could be registered under either of these emails.

I noticed that the TV picture displays Spanish words in the heading. It's noteworthy that there are 4 million new Spanish-speaking individuals in the United States. This increase may be attributed to the leadership in Washington, D.C. While it's important to preserve our national identity, it might be beneficial for new immigrants to pass an English equivalency test within five years along with the citizenship exam. Embracing one's culture and family ties is crucial, but when someone chooses to move to a different country, they should make an effort to assimilate into its culture.

I used to pay $[redacted] monthly for cable just to access the Weather Channel for my family. I decided to switch to Roku due to the high cost, but I'm having trouble getting accurate weather updates. Despite contacting customer service multiple times via phone and email, my issue remains unresolved. Inputting my address or zip code on Roku is not working correctly, and I keep receiving someone else's weather information. It's frustrating because predicting tornados, lightning, and hurricanes is crucial, especially now during hurricane season on the coast. The service should be able to recognize and save my zip code properly like it did on cable and my iPhone.

We initiated a subscription a few weeks ago for our living room TV. However, we encountered issues attempting to access the weather app on a new TV in our home. We are disappointed with the situation and kindly request urgent resolution to fully enjoy the service we have paid for. We have already sent three emails and waited for three weeks for assistance. Thank you. Contact us at [redacted] or [redacted] for any updates.

My spouse recently set up our account with The Weather Channel a few weeks back and doesn't have the account number. The account could be under either Eugene A. Moran or Pat or Patricia Moran at [redacted] Brookhaven Circle Martin, GA [redacted]. After setting up our living room TV, everything worked fine. However, we couldn’t remember the password to install the Weather Channel app on our Vizio TV in the kitchen, leading to unsuccessful attempts to set up a new password. Despite sending a couple of emails, we didn’t receive any assistance from customer service, leaving us unable to fully utilize our subscription for almost three weeks. We simply want to add the app to our other TV and find out our account number. Looking forward to your help.
