I have two phones at home that will be obsolete once the 3G services are discontinued. We are considering purchasing the Motorola One 5G Ace. I noticed it is $50 cheaper on Amazon. Can I remove the SIM card from my old phone and insert it into the new one to keep the same phone number, or do I need a new SIM card for the new phone? I haven't bought the new phones yet. It would be more convenient to buy them through Consumer Cellular, but there is a $[redacted] price difference for two phones. Thank you, Cliff.

I bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G phone as a Christmas gift for my wife. I am wondering if the sim card from her current Motorola Moto G4 is compatible with the new Samsung device. The Moto has a Micro sim while the Samsung requires a nano sim, so I believe they are not directly compatible unless the nano sim can be extracted from the Micro sim. Should we also register the IMEI number once the new phone is activated? Thanks, Bob A

I am reaching out regarding your promotion of Consumer Cellular. I am concerned about the value for your customers. Below is the email I shared with Consumer Cellular expressing my dissatisfaction. I believe your prices are not competitive. For instance, on the Verizon network, one can enjoy unlimited services with the initial 3 gigabytes at high speed and reduced speeds thereafter for only $15 per month. It seems like a better deal compared to what you offer. If you wish to learn more about this network, please contact me. If no response is provided, it would show a lack of customer interest on your part. Kindly consider exploring other major networks apart from Verizon. I am not associated with any network provider or the telecommunications industry. My aim is solely to advocate for consumer interests. Thank you.

Our issues have been resolved as we decided to cancel our order due to numerous problems while setting up Consumer Cellular as our provider. Despite hearing many positive advertisements on TV, we encountered significant issues. We were unable to keep our existing phones or phone numbers, and every representative we spoke to provided conflicting information. After a week of attempts to get everything set up, we discovered that we needed to release our numbers from our current provider, which came as a surprise. This ultimately led to our decision to cancel the service. Despite receiving a refund for our expenses, the overall experience was a nightmare filled with poor customer service and deception. We want to caution anyone considering Consumer Cellular as it did not live up to the TV ads.

Dear Community Members, I am reaching out for advice regarding our recent experience with Consumer Cellular after purchasing a ZMax-10 phone from Target to join my husband to my existing phone line. Despite numerous conversations with Customer Service representatives between January 14 to yesterday, we are still facing issues with the activation of his phone, despite providing all the necessary details from his previous provider, Straight Talk. We were given conflicting information about the activation timeline, with promises of resolution by specific dates which were not met. Frustratingly, the phone remains inactive and our attempts to contact Customer Service for help only provide a callback option for the 20th. Additionally, Straight Talk's communication has not been helpful either, complicating the situation further. We are also concerned about potential charges from them. Any insights or advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Laurel S.

My phone connected to the ZTE Wireless Home Phone Base is not accepting phone calls or messages. Whenever someone dials our number, we only get a busy signal. Despite being able to make outbound calls, the voicemail icon on the base station is consistently flashing, even when there are no new messages. I attempted to reboot by powering it down, and then tried a cold boot by removing the battery, but the issue persists. The transition from my old 3G base to this 5G base has been frustrating.

I am a new customer of Consumer Cellular, my phone number is [redacted], and my email is [redacted] I am currently using an iPhone SE. I am having trouble accessing my voicemail as I am being prompted for a password I don't recall setting up. There are important messages I can't retrieve, especially due to a recent family loss. My Safari app for internet access isn't working since switching to Consumer Cellular. I need assistance in fixing this issue. I am interested in upgrading to a new iPhone. Ideally, I would like the iPhone 12 or 13, but I was told they are unavailable. If that's the case, I would settle for an iPhone 11. Please advise on how to proceed with this upgrade. Thank you, Clark Buchner

I accidentally deleted several voicemails on my old Moto E cell phone. I deleted the first one, then the number seven key seemed to get stuck, causing the following messages to be marked for deletion. How can I retrieve these voicemails before they are permanently deleted? I bought the phone from Target about a year ago. I have Google services enabled for backing up texts and photos on Google Drive. Can the backups help me retrieve the deleted voicemails, and if so, how can I do it?

Hello, I recently purchased a plan with an iPhone under account #[redacted]68. I received an email requesting a call back, but my current carrier has cut off my service, prompting me to switch to your service. I requested my old phone number, which was with Flashwireless, a possibly prepaid service with poor customer service. If Flashwireless does not unlock my phone, I would prefer a new number promptly as I cannot be phoneless for long. If resolving this with Flashwireless takes too long, I will opt for a new number. Please contact me via email at [redacted] until I have my new phone. Thank you for your attention and your excellent customer service, which influenced my decision to choose your company.

I spent over an hour on my landline trying to get help from customer support to set up my voicemail on my new account, but I was locked out. I have a new Motorola phone with my plan, and after it was reset, I was locked out of setting up my voicemail PIN. Now, I can't receive a temporary password because the account says my phone number is invalid. When I call [redacted] from my landline, my cellphone rings. This is a terrible start to our provider-customer relationship. I'm concerned that I might not be able to continue with you as my provider. Please call me on my landline at [redacted] to resolve my phone service issue promptly. I cannot wait by the phone all day as I need to work to pay for the cellphone service.

I recently updated my phone's software, and the next morning, I received a SIM Failed notification. Unfortunately, this issue has occurred before. I reached out to my carrier, Consumer Cellular, via their only phone line. After a lengthy wait and multiple messages, I requested a callback on my landline. When they called back almost an hour later, the call disconnected as soon as I answered, a situation that has previously happened with this provider. I tried contacting them again, endured more messages, and scheduled a callback for the following morning, which they missed. Regrettably, this has also happened in the past. Overall, I am frustrated with Consumer Cellular's lack of timely assistance and their unsatisfactory explanations. Additionally, their absence of a chat feature is disappointing.

I am currently experiencing an issue with my Link II flip phone. There is a persistent triangle/exclamation symbol on the outer screen that I cannot remove. Despite reaching out to customer service for assistance, the instructions provide did not resolve the problem. I attempted to follow instructions from Reddit users, which typically helped others in similar situations, but unfortunately, those steps did not work for me. Upon navigating through the menu options, I could not locate the suggested "delete broadcast" selection that is said to fix this issue. Instead, when I accessed the "emergency alerts" section under messages, the only available choice was "settings." Within the settings, I could only find a list of alert options with on/off toggles, but no sign of the crucial "delete broadcast" selection. If anyone has any alternative solutions besides resetting the phone to factory settings, I would greatly appreciate your advice. The persistent alert icon interferes with the essential time display function of the phone, which is a vital feature for me. Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

I recently received a letter from a collection agency claiming that I owe Consumer Cellular. When I contacted your customer service about a month ago, a representative acknowledged that the situation was a mistake on your end and assured me it would be resolved. However, I have just received another collection notice. My name is Susan S. and you can reach me at [redacted] Maurice Ave, New Smyrna Beach, FL [redacted]. I attempted to sign up for service after purchasing a phone from Target in Port Orange but was unable to transfer my number. Consequently, I returned the phone immediately after the purchase since nothing was activated. The agent I spoke to before admitted your mistake, saying, "We certainly dropped the ball on this one." Despite the assurances, I am still receiving collection letters from Professional Credit Service. The account number listed is [redacted]62, professional account number [redacted]4. Please address this matter promptly. Thank you.

I am experiencing a recurring issue where my phone displays "no service" for approximately [redacted] hours each month, only allowing emergency calls. Despite paying a $49 monthly fee, I have limited phone functionality between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. I am unable to make or receive calls, send texts, or access messages during these hours, except for playing games. Another colleague who changed to Consumer Cellular also faces the same problem. As your advertisements promote 24/7 service using Verizon and AT&T networks, I expected reliable coverage. Since my coworker received a new phone upon switching services, the issue seems to be network-related. I seek the service quality advertised and paid for each month. I am unsure how to resolve this independently, hence reaching out for assistance. Thank you.

I attempted to transfer my new unlocked GSM phone purchased on eBay and my number from another carrier. I obtained my account number from the old carrier and contacted them twice from my old phone. They deactivated my old phone, but my new phone is still not connecting. They requested my old account number but not the SIM IMEI. I consistently see "No service" when starting up the new phone. Unfortunately, I have no other phone to contact them. The online chat feature is not available at the moment. My LG V20 supports wifi calling but requires a working SIM card to function. I am using my neighbor's wifi to write this message after struggling to reach a live support representative for almost an hour on her phone. Asking for help multiple times is not feasible. I urgently need mobile data to handle rent and grocery payments securely. The ideal solution is to activate my SIM card, restore service, and enable me to make calls and access the internet without wifi.

I am encountering issues with my Consumer Cellular flip phone. The caller ID is not visible, and I am unable to access voicemail. Additionally, there is a strange image displayed on the screen. During a recent call to customer service on February 25, [redacted], lasting over 4 hours, the call got disconnected abruptly. This experience has left me disappointed, especially after hearing similar complaints from others. I used to be with Verizon and never had such problems, but their service comes at a higher cost. I attempted to seek assistance online, but that was unsuccessful due to my limited computer skills. As a 76-year-old who is homebound, having a reliable phone is crucial for me. I rely on it for emergencies, and any malfunctions can be dangerous. I am in urgent need of a working flip phone. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am experiencing an issue with my phone displaying "LIMITED SERVICE, EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY" despite purchasing a new phone. This problem is new and I do not have a landline for alternative service. Both of my phones are showing "no service", and although the website offers a chat option, it is not functional. Even after activating the new phone, I still have no service. Moving to a different location did not resolve the issue either. I have been a long-term customer and suggest having a backup phone on hand, like the Magic Jack I bought. While Consumer Cellular is cost-effective, reaching them for assistance can be challenging.

I recently got my new cell phone and used the provided instruction book to set it up, but all my contacts were lost. The manual didn't show how to add or delete contacts. I called customer service and was on hold for 1 hour and 12 minutes. When the representative finally answered, we got disconnected before I could explain. I'm disappointed. My name is Jack H. Marshall, and my last 4 is [redacted]. I'd appreciate a call or some assistance at [redacted] Hondo Pass Dr, El Paso, TX [redacted]. Let's keep that 11-year record intact. Thank you.

I am experiencing issues with my Samsung S10 phone's compatibility with Consumer Cellular. For the past few days, I have been unable to make or receive calls. When someone tries to call, my phone doesn't ring and automatically disconnects the call. Additionally, I am unable to access my voicemail due to forgotten codes. Despite spending over 20 minutes with Consumer Cellular customer service and trying various troubleshooting steps, the problem persists. I suspect it might be related to recent changes in data usage. Any suggestions to help resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I am having issues adding my contacts to the new flip phone I purchased from your company. Despite following tutorials and attempting to transfer the old SIM card, I was unable to successfully input my contacts into the new device. In my attempts to remove the SIM cards, I inadvertently damaged the phone. As a result, I am now without a functioning phone. I am hesitant to purchase another phone as it will incur an additional cost that I am not prepared for. Considering switching to Verizon or another AT&T store where I have had better experiences. I would appreciate any guidance on resolving this matter. Thank you. - Unsatisfied Customer
